Course Description

A well-designed firefighting system can act as a guardian angel and save lives and properties. The system is a complex network involving many elements. Our firefighting training course prepares the participants to design a perfect firefighting system and build the best line of defense and safety.

Basic Course Overview

• Learn about the concept of fire
• Know an overview of NFPA design codes, the UAE Code, the Saudi Arabia Code, and the British Standard Code
• Get to know about the major manufacturers in Saudi Arabia
• Learn the application procedures and documents needed for Saudi Arabia's civil inspection and the application procedures needed for Saudi Arabia's Civil Defense

• Know the Local safety code and International design standards

Module 1 (Fire Extinguishers)

• Understand the different types of fire extinguishers
• Find how to choose the right fire extinguisher
• Learn about the placement and design procedure of fire extinguishers
• Understand the various types of approvals for fire extinguishers
• Know how to install and maintain a fire extinguisher
• Practical training in fire extinguisher design

Module 2 (Sprinkler System)

• Understand the different types of sprinkler operations
• Know in detail about pendent-type sprinklers including Recessed and Concealed Pendent Type Sprinklers
• Learn about Sidewall type sprinklers
• Find how to conduct pipe sizing calculations
• Understand the different types of sprinkler pipes
• Know how to perform sprinkler flow calculations and how to estimate sprinkler coverage distance
• Learn about the different types of approvals needed for fire extinguishers
• Understand how to install a sprinkler system

Module 3 (Wet Riser and Dry Riser System - Cabinet System)

• Find how to choose jockey pumps, suction side valves, discharge side valves, and control panels

• Understand the operation of pressure gauges, pressure switches, and flow meters
